Yoga Reduce Your Stress | Top Ways Yoga Can Help You Reduce Stress

Posted on May 12, 2014 By Noor Lifestyle No Comments on Yoga Reduce Your Stress | Top Ways Yoga Can Help You Reduce Stress

The human body is a wonderful thing. It can take an unusual amount of punishment and stress, and still heal itself. But it needs your help to accomplish this cure. In order to rejuvenate your body’s natural defense system, you need to relax. Relaxation and rest will cure many diseases.

The goal of yoga is self realization; to understand and accept ourselves. Yoga is to focus on the breath uniting mind, body and spirit, enabling a connection with our true self and higher energy that is life force and that which permeates every living thing. Through the avenue of the breath yoga enables us to connect and gently bring to the surface emotions that have become ‘stuck’ in our bodies.

We know that all stress is not all bad. We can learn through yoga to balance the stress response within the body. One aspect of yoga that helps with this is called listening to the body. We usually get signals from the body when stress levels are about to rise. And with regular yoga practice we learn not to ignore these signals.
The beauty of yoga routines is that they can be as long or as short as you need them to be, and many exercise videos feature combinations of moves that work specific areas of the body which is something many women appreciate.

If you are feeling under pressure, anxious and worried – take a moment to pause, to sit down, relax your shoulders, soften your gaze and take a long steady breathe in and slowly exhale. Practice this 3-5 times and observe what difference it makes to how you feel. I am sure you will feel calmer, less stressed and energized.
Like most things in life, to gain the maximum benefit from yoga and relaxation exercises, you need to develop positive relaxation habits. That way you can easily reduce the times you feel stressed and know what to do when you are stressed.

Researchers concluded that even a short program of Yoga is effective for enhancing emotional well-being and resilience to stress in the workplace, and recommended that employers should consider offering yoga classes to their employees.
