Gestational Diabetes is a type of diabetes that affects pregnant women. While no obvious symptoms may be seen, high blood pressure and its own side effects can serve as indicators of gestational diabetes.

Signs of diabetes in women are tiredness, frequent urination, dry skin, infections and weight loss. It is always advisable to consult a doctor if these symptoms are found in a woman. Due to aging your insulin becomes less effective hence the maintenance of blood glucose level is disrupted.

Some other major warning signs of diabetes in women are insatiable thirst. These are not the normal thirsty feelings. The feeling is like no matter what you drink and how much you drink at the end of the day you still have an unquenchable thirsty feelings.

Exercising and dieting helps to cure this chronic ailment of middle aged women. It is vital for this age group of women that they should stay away from consuming sugar as it increases the level of glucose in bloodstream. It is also critical to stay away from foods containing fats.

Sudden weight loss can be experienced by a diabetic patient. The loss may be harmful for the body as your body would become more prone to other illness.

A diet should comprise of healthy and nutritious food items. The diet should be consumed at recommended time with prescribed quantity. Obesity and poor eating habits are two main causes of diabetes. Lack of nutritional food, inadequate sleep, no exercise, stress, and poor lifestyle also lead to diabetes.

Type 2 diabetic women are at a greater risk than men of blindness and cardiovascular disease. Estrogen loss increases all women’s risk of heart disease, which is the major cause of death for postmenopausal women. However, the risk of heart disease is two to three times higher in postmenopausal women with diabetes.
