Olive oil has an extensive history of versatility. Dating back to 400 B.C., it was used not only in food applications but also in skin care as a moisturizer and perfume. Its chemical composition is similar to oils in our skin making it easily absorbed and a great natural moisturizer. It is rich in antioxidants and aids in our skins’ production of collagen and elastin. It can used as a makeup remover as well, though may not break down some cosmetics as well as store bought makeup removers.

Always apply moisturizer in an upwards motion to prevent saggy skin later on in life. Also don’t forget your neck, apply the moisturizer in an upward motion.

Homemade whipping creams can be utilized as a sour cream substitute. By adding about 3 or 4 drops of lemon to a cup of whipped cream, one can already create a sour cream. You can leave it for 30 minutes to get the sour cream.

To remove the makeup of the eyes and mouth we need to use a makeup remover that has the same hydration as the tears. The skin around the eyes and mouth is more prone to wrinkles due to the lack of hydration. When removing the makeup, don’t rub your eyes and mouth.

Eating foods rich in essential fatty acids, zinc, silica and vitamins A,C,D,E,K nourishes the body and replenishes your skin. Include oily fish, eggs, liver and lean meats, citrus fruit, tomatoes, almonds, pumpkin seeds, carrots, spinach, green cabbage, kale, Swiss Chard, turnip greens, broccoli, tomatoes, collards and low fat dairy products in your diet.

 
Some makeup removers and cleansing oils can cost you much but a good homemade beauty aids can wipe away foundation, liquid eyeliner, and waterproof mascara in a flash and at the same time won’t cost you the same as the price of the branded makeup remover.

To remove your eye makeup properly, you should use an oil-based or moisturizing eye makeup remover. These products work much better than soap and water without drying your skin.
