Easy to Follow Hair Straightening Tips

Posted on May 1, 2014 By Noor Lifestyle No Comments on Easy to Follow Hair Straightening Tips

Hair straightening can be achieved through many different techniques. Some of these require a trip to the salon, and some hair straightening techniques are performed at home. You should proceed with caution when trying some hair straightening techniques because they can be damaging to your hair.

Though having straight hair can be beautiful and stunning to look at, there are still disadvantages to it from having it styled and straightened. Hair straightening can bring about damage that is why it is important for us to make sure that the straightening technique we choose is not only going to make our hair look good but stay healthy too.

For some people, they think that conditioners are just products out in the market used to work with shampoo and this is right but let’s not underestimate it for conditioners are the best tool we can use from keeping our hair against dryness and breakage as well.

If your tresses aren’t straight after blow-drying, you’ll have to use a straightening iron. Re-clip dry locks into sections. Starting at the back of the head, gently guide the straightening iron down each section. Avoid applying the iron twice to the same segment. If this routine desiccates your hair, try a higher-end straightening iron like made by T3.

For sensitive as well as damaged hair, the temperature should be set at the lowest level. On the other hand, if you have thick curly but healthy hair, set your hair straightener temperature at the highest settings.

You should start by clipping up certain parts of your hair and straighten in sections. Do not straighten over the same area more than once as this is pointless, all you will be achieving is burning the hair or causing it to fray. Make sure you use mainstream professional hair straighteners and not cheap imitations.

Some of other attachments for hair straightening are, dryer and excellent gels that work effectively and also straightening brushes. But while using these, you need to use them correctly and in proper method in the right direction, otherwise it may result in hair loss.

Make sure your hair is totally dry before using a heated iron. Hair is most fragile and prone to breakage when it is wet and the straightening iron on damp hair will open the cuticle and damage the cortex. If possible, allow your hair to dry naturally instead of blow drying as this will reduce the amount of heat your hair has to endure at one time.
