Amazing Reasons to Eat More Almonds

Posted on April 28, 2014 By Noor Lifestyle No Comments on Amazing Reasons to Eat More Almonds

Almonds go well with a variety of foods. For example, you can mix berries like blueberries or goji berries with your almonds. That way you get some sweetness, some vitamins and some antioxidants along with the health benefits of almonds. Or, if berries aren’t your thing, try adding raw cocoa nibs to the almonds so that you can recall the peanut butter and chocolate days.

An ounce of almonds is a wonderful snack to enjoy. It packs in 6 grams of protein and 3.3 grams of fiber. Nuts are known for their high fat content, but almonds have the monounsaturated variety which is healthier for you. The good sources contained in almonds are calcium, potassium, and magnesium, which helps to regulate blood pressure.

Not only that, the almond group also benefited from an increase in several important vitamins and nutrients found in almonds: Vitamin E, protein, magnesium, fiber, potassium, calcium, phosphorous, iron, and monounsaturated fat.

Almonds are a very nutritious source of protein and fiber. Just a handful is enough to keep the body going for 24 hours! They also contain calcium and iron which ensure strong bones and healthy teeth. Antioxidants such as quersetin are present in almonds and they inhibit any occurrence of the growth of cancerous cells in the body.

Almonds contain fiber that aids in shedding pounds and maintaining weight loss. This may be because the fiber in almonds helps satisfy you, making you feel fuller so you consume less. In addition, fiber helps digestion, provides energy, makes stools bulky, and speeds up the process of removing toxins from the body.

Almonds are also a source for the omega-3 and the omega-6 fatty acids. Women tend to need this more than men, but as a general rule, the American diet doesn’t always include enough foods that cover the fatty oils and acids that the body needs. Almonds are a great source for this.
Almonds contain vital nutrients which prove to be very beneficial for the development of the brain. Young kids should be given almonds everyday as it helps in the enhancement of their growth. Mothers should give 2-3 almonds soaked overnight to their kids daily.

If you want to promote optimal health, don’t forget to add almonds and other nuts to your everyday diet. In addition to these, find some good calcium and vitamin supplements to prevent and cure calcium deficiency in your body and ultimately, reduce the risk of developing bone disease or osteoporosis in old age.
